It’s OK with Donald if his Justice Department wants charge Julian Assange.
Mr Trump has said that he is not in the decision-making process as to whether Mr Assange should be charged. Yet according to to the Associated Press, he said if Mr Sessions and the DOJ wanted to proceed with such a move, he would be fine with the decision.

So, the president is out of the decision-making loop. It seems the only thing he decides is when he will go to Mar-a-Lago or how often the gold in his Manhattan apartment is buffed.
Trump lost a lot of support after Sessions said Assange would be charged, not that it matters. The Trump Chumps voted him into office and the only way they will get him out is to impeach him, which is not likely. Trump has yet to diddle an intern.
Back when Trump announced his presidential bid I said it would turn out like this. Do you think this silver spoon casino magnate and reality TV show star will Make America Great Again? Donald Trump has one goal—to make himself great at your expense.
During the campaign, Trump came off as Attila the Hun in an Ermenegildo Zegna suit. Steal the oil. Bomb the shit out of them. Waterboard the suckers. Kill their families.
It was obvious early on Donald Trump is a wannabe neocon. He tried to leaven this with populist mumbo-jumbo but that didn’t work, at least not for me.
He’s not cut from the same cloth as the ivy league and think tank cloistered neocons, so they rejected him out of hand.
Now they love him, or some of them do.
Lindsey Graham said Trump has “done more to correct the world” in 80 days in office than former President Barack Obama did in eight years.

The folks on the alt-right responsible in large part for electing Trump are now having a tizzy. It’s the Deep State, they complain. It sabotaged their guy. It snuck in the back door and mugged him.
I don’t think so.
Trump was with them all along. His campaign was a long ramble of catch phrases and half-ass promises he never intended to keep.
I have news for the alt-righters. Donald Trump will ignore you. Trump knows he’s a one term president. Like all his other accomplishments, winning the presidency is a shiny trophy. It’s all about The Donald and you can eat cake, preferably chocolate.
It remains to be seen what will happen. The move to arrest Assange and give him the Chelsea Manning treatment or worse may flounder on the rocks. On the other hand, the Brits may storm the embassy and arrest him, rendition him to the United States.
It’s an known unknown, as Donald Rumsfeld might say.
But it’s not simply Assange. AG Sessions and the Justice Department say they want to grab other members of WikiLeaks, too.
I’m certain “Snowdenista” and WikiLeaks staffer Sarah Harrison sits at the top of the list. She lives in Berlin. Will Sessions lean on the Germans? Demand her arrest? She helped NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden escape Hong Kong and land at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport before the authorities moved in.
Harrison and other members of WikiLeaks have good reason to be worried. Recall the mysterious deaths of two top lawyers representing Assange. John Jones died in London and Michael Ratner in New York. Assange confidant and a Director of WikiLeaks, Gavin Macfadyen, died in October, 2016.
It might be a coincidence, then again.
One last thing. During the reign of Obama, the Justice Department discovered it would be impossible to prosecute Assange without prosecuting news organizations that have published and posted diplomatic cables and other material leaked by WikiLeaks. The First Amendment stands in the way.

Not a problem for Trump. He violated the Constitution within hours of entering the White House. His generals nearly wiped out a whole village in Yemen. No congressional approval required.
The danger, according to journalist Glenn Greenwald, is “is that this is an administration that has already said, the President himself has said, the U.S. media is the enemy of the American people. And this is a prosecution that would enable them not only to prosecute and imprison Julian Assange, but a whole variety of other journalists and media outlets that also routinely publish classified information from the U.S. government.”

Trump has lived up to at least one of his campaign promises. He has bombed Syrians, Iraqis, and Yemenis, killing families, including a grade school girl who was an American citizen.
Don’t be surprised if more WikiLeaks folks turn up dead.
It’s what The Donald does best.
